When briefed by our clients (recent empty nesters) on the vision for their new condo, their description was simple. “We don’t want it to look or feel like a condo.” We knew exactly what they wanted and approached this job just like we do most condos; leaning into the modern architecture but adding tons of warmth through finishes that can make a condo feel really lived in. The walls were kept white, the windows black and the floors were laid in a classic herringbone pattern that complimented the clean envelope. All of our other choices brought the space alive: a dramatic wall tile in the kitchen, brass accents throughout, colourful block printed fabrics ranging from deep teal to blush pink, interesting art and loads of textures in the form of rugs and accessories. The end result is a condo packed with colour and personality but one that still feels modern and airy.
