We hired Emily Griffin and Stephanie Houghton to decorate the client side of our Toronto offices, as well as create a new staff lounge in an unused section of our floor. The job was a combination of decorating and renovation consulting. We were extremely happy with both their process and the end results of their work. They captured perfectly our firm’s culture of being more understated versus flashy in the furniture they chose, and in the materials they used. We also loved how they incorporated our company colours’ tastefully into the design scheme without it feeling contrived. Emily and Stephanie understood exactly what we were looking for and respected our budget throughout the process. The quality of all their work, from the ideas they generated, the craftsmanship of their trades, to the actual products that were delivered, were amazing. The feedback from our clients, everyone in the Toronto offices and most importantly, our colleagues from head office in Calgary, have been overwhelmingly positive and we all love the new space immensely. I hired Stephanie Houghton and I couldn’t be more delighted with the outcome. Steph had an amazing vision for my house – which started out as a kitchen and quickly advanced to me soliciting her to help update nearly the entire house. Every suggestion and design idea Stephanie had was spot-on. Anything from repositioning items in my kitchen for better space efficiency, to opening up a doorway to the ceiling which added so much flow to my upstairs landing, to little touches like custom pillows and beautiful hardware for cabinetry – Steph thought of it all, and it’s made a huge difference. She was always respectful of what I could afford, and pushed me in the right ways to invest where it would really matter (like the new hardwood floor I put in, which COMPLETELY transformed my main floor and was worth every penny!). Stephanie Houghton is a gifted interior designer who is passionately committed to her work and really showed up for us. Stephanie listened very carefully and was able to help us develop a vision for our home and ensure it was realized. She came up with an amazing, well thought out, integrated look for our condo, that really reflects who we are and which has a lovely balance, freshness and flow to it throughout. We were a new couple who were just moving into together and Stephanie was very thoughtful in integrating and making use of our varied pieces.

There is no way we could have pulled together all the elements involved in this design on our own, which included: built in closets and book cases in the bedroom; taking down the wall between the kitchen and the den; building in a workspace in the den that included a custom, wall-mounted, American walnut book case and built-in desk; new kitchen which integrated Ikea with custom millwork; a transformed washroom; and hardwood floors throughout. In the washroom, she created new storage space by borrowing part of the front hall closet and knocking down a wall. BILL AND SHARIF

We worked with Emily and Stephanie on the interior design of our living room, dining room and entrance way of our new house. This was the first time we had worked with interior design professionals.
