The board and batten Barn is a gorgeous, airy, light-filled addition to Emily and her husband Norman’s Kawartha Lakes property on Balsam Lake, that serves both as a place for her three kids and their friends to sleep, and a wonderful place for the whole family to gather.  Emily filled the Barn with re-purposed windows, doors, and an old staircase that her grandparents used to have in their own cottage.  Plenty of other antiques fill the space and were picked up from junk shops Emily scoured throughout the Kawarthas.  The result, is a magical space filled with history and soul, and touches of good old Canadiana, like white washed walls, honey stained pine floors and lots of beaten up rugs and family photos.  Central to the main floor plan is a vintage 1950s snooker table that Norm found just 30 minutes away from the cottage, which gets constant use every summer.
